๐ŸŒฟ Cut Your Carbon in November ๐ŸŒฟ

14th Nov 2025

๐ŸŒ What is the “Cut Your Carbon” scheme?

Every November, many schools take part in a special challenge called “Cut Your Carbon.”
It’s all about helping the planet by using less carbon, which means doing things that create less pollution.

Why does it matter?
Carbon pollution (like carbon dioxide) comes from things such as cars, buses, heating, wasting electricity, and throwing away food. Too much of it warms up the Earth and causes climate change. The challenge helps everyone learn small, easy ways to reduce this.

๐ŸŒฑ What do children do in the challenge?

Schools give pupils a list of simple activities to try at home and at school, such as:

  • ๐Ÿ”Œ Turn off lights when you leave a room

  • โ™ป๏ธ Recycle or reuse items

  • ๐Ÿšถ Walk, cycle, or scoot instead of going by car

  • ๐Ÿงด Reduce waste, like using less plastic

  • ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Avoid throwing away food

  • ๐ŸŒณ Spend time in nature and talk about how to protect it

Every time a child completes an activity, they can tick it off. The goal is to do as many as possible during the month.

The Eco-Warriors met this week to discuss how Saint Patrick’s will take part in Carbon November. They decided to share important information with the whole school at our next Friday assembly. The Eco Committee voted to organise a Carbon Reducing Day on Tuesday, 25th of November. ๐ŸŒฟ
