Road Safety Week at St Patrick’s
Let’s Keep Our Children Safe!
Next week, St Patrick’s Primary School Mullinahoe will be taking part in our annual Road Safety Week. This is a national initiative aimed at helping children understand how to stay safe on and around roads, especially during the darker winter months. This year’s theme is “Be Bright, Be Seen”, reminding everyone that visibility saves lives.
🚘 What is Road Safety Week about?
Road Safety Week focuses on teaching children the importance of:
💡 Being Seen – wearing bright or reflective clothing when walking or cycling.
💡 Staying Alert – paying attention when crossing roads and avoiding distractions.
💡 Understanding Road Rules – knowing how to cross safely and use pedestrian crossings.
😎 Bright Day – Friday 21st November 2025
To finish the week, we will celebrate Bright Day! On this day, children are encouraged to come to school wearing bright, fluorescent, reflective clothing to highlight the importance of being visible to drivers.
The brighter, the better!
Thank you for supporting this important initiative.
Together, we can help keep our children safe on the roads.
