A 🍂 Wonderful Autumnal 🍂 Day!

6th Oct 2025

A Great Start to the Week in Primary Three

What a fantastic start to the week we've had in Primary Three! The changing colours of the leaves and the crisp autumn air have inspired us to explore the season of autumn while also thinking about how we take care of ourselves and the world around us.

The day started at 8.30am with a beautiful Halloween 🎃 art activity. This resource was kindly donated by Siomha’s Granny Ann! We are blessed to have such wonderful grandparents 🙏🏻

Shannon brought in a real bird's nest that had been blown down by Storm Amy, along with some beautiful autumnal cones. We were fascinated by how carefully the birds had built their nest and loved looking at the textures and shapes of the cones.

Archie brought in a photo of his homegrown pumpkins – and we were all amazed! The pumpkin he is holding in the picture is especially impressive, and it sparked lots of great conversations about growing our own food and looking after nature.

We had lots of fun playing 'Pass the Parcel' – but this time, the surprises inside were not toys or sweets. Instead, we found some mysterious little objects. Most of us thought they looked like mini potatoes! But after a little research, we discovered they were actually bluebell seeds. What a surprise!

We took them outside and carefully planted them in the pre-dug holes, making sure to place them the right way up. We can’t wait to see what grows in spring!

We also had a very special workshop from the NSPCC team, who talked to us about safe places and safe adults in our lives. The team was really impressed with how thoughtful and confident the children were in sharing their ideas.

We’re all looking forward to another round of ‘Pass the Parcel’ tomorrow – here’s a little clue: the object inside will help you complete your number task!

Thank you, Primary Three, for a wonderful day full of curiosity, kindness and fun.
