RESPECT As we begin our school year, it is important that we set out our standards for respect from the beginning. Simple things like a smile, good eye contact or a “hello” can make a huge difference when forming relationships with new friends and helping others. Small gestures towards others show that you value them and will help to build respect. In the month of September we will be focusing on the Christian value - RESPECT. This is also one of our Key School values. As a whole school community, we will be discussing what RESPECT means and what it should look like within each classroom. We will be looking at: How we show respect for each other and adults in the school community. How children are encouraged to value and respect their own and other people’s belongings. How children are encouraged to show tolerance by accepting feelings, habits or beliefs, racial or ethnic origins that are different from their own. What patience, kindness and good manners should look like in our classroom.   [Open Document] | ☕ Coffee Morning ☕ - Friends Of Mullinahoe - Coffee Morning on Sunday 28th of September from 12.00 - 2.00 pm in the Ardboe Community Centre. Battle of the Books - Winners

10th Mar 2023

Battle Of The Books 2023

Well done to all our pupils who took part in the Battle of the Books competition linked to World Book Day. Through our Accelerated Reader we try to develop a love of books and promote reading for pleasure. As part of this ww organised a  ‘Battle Of The Books.’  All the classes P3-P7 were divided into 4 Teams to compete against each other and see which team could reach the most points.

Points were awarded through Accelerated Reader Quizzes for P3-P7 and by the teachers and classroom assistants in Foundation Stage. The 4 groups were The Arrows. The Brains, The Climbers, and the Discoverers.

Team B the Brains were our winners this year with 478 Quizzes passed.

The competition was a brilliant success. Just look at our information below.

During the competition we had:

Total Quizzes – 1,600  Quizzes passed

Total Words Read – 4,000,000 Words Read

Class With Most Quizzes - Mrs Mulholland P4

Pupil with Most Words Read– JW  P7

Class With Most Words Read This Week – Mr Lavery P6

We will be rewarding Team A next week with a few special treats.  We also rewarded the top 5 readers, who had taken most quizzes, in each class regardless of their teams.  It was brilliant to see so many pupils who have been reluctant to take part in Accelerated Reader complete quizzes this week. Lets try to keep it up.

Have a look at our pupils who were top in their classes in the pictures below.
