RESPECT As we begin our school year, it is important that we set out our standards for respect from the beginning. Simple things like a smile, good eye contact or a “hello” can make a huge difference when forming relationships with new friends and helping others. Small gestures towards others show that you value them and will help to build respect. In the month of September we will be focusing on the Christian value - RESPECT. This is also one of our Key School values. As a whole school community, we will be discussing what RESPECT means and what it should look like within each classroom. We will be looking at: How we show respect for each other and adults in the school community. How children are encouraged to value and respect their own and other people’s belongings. How children are encouraged to show tolerance by accepting feelings, habits or beliefs, racial or ethnic origins that are different from their own. What patience, kindness and good manners should look like in our classroom.   [Open Document] | β˜• Coffee Morning β˜• - Friends Of Mullinahoe - Coffee Morning on Sunday 28th of September from 12.00 - 2.00 pm in the Ardboe Community Centre. 6th Jun 2025

🌿The children in Primary Three had great fun this week building a new Bug Hotel for our school and they found lots of natural resources around the school grounds to use. We have just completed Stage One and we are looking forward to extending the hotel during the month of June! We are delighted to announce that the first visitors have already  πŸž checked in to this wonderful hotel. Mya and Sophia had the great pleasure of delivering the new hotel sign and we think our hotel looks pretty bee-utiful! 🐝

Please see reviews posted on Bug Advisor! The bugs are delighted to have Fly-Wifi!

Why Build a Bug Hotel? Bug πŸ›

Building a bug hotel is a fantastic hands-on activity that connects children with nature and sparks curiosity about the tiny creatures that play a big role in our environment.

Building a Bug Hotel: πŸ•·οΈ

Encourages Exploration and Observation: Children develop important scientific skills like observing, questioning, and recording by watching different insects.

Promotes Environmental Stewardship: Creating habitats for bugs teaches children about biodiversity and the importance of protecting ecosystems, fostering a lifelong respect for nature. 🐝

Supports Pollination and Pest Control: Many bugs, like ladybugs and bees, help pollinate plants and control pests naturally, which benefits school gardens and local green spaces. πŸͺ±

Enhances Problem-Solving and Creativity: Designing and building bug hotels encourages children to think critically and creatively, using natural materials to create safe, inviting spaces for insects.

Boosts Emotional Well-being: Spending time outdoors and caring for living creatures can reduce stress and increase happiness and confidence in children. 🐜

By building a bug hotel, children gain valuable knowledge and skills while making a positive impact on their environment—an inspiring step toward becoming thoughtful, curious learners and caretakers of the planet.🌍
