Battery Recycling Initiative – A Great First Collection!
We are delighted to announce that our school has successfully completed its first battery box collection, and we are thrilled with the fantastic response from pupils, staff, and families to this important recycling initiative.
Thanks to everyone’s efforts, the collected batteries will now be sent to the main recycling centre in Cookstown, where they will be safely processed and recycled. This initiative has been a wonderful example of our school community working together to protect our environment.
Small actions taken every day really can make a big difference – not just to our local community, but to the whole world. By responsibly recycling batteries, we are helping to reduce waste and care for our planet for future generations.
A special thank you to Aoife and Erin, our Battery Recycling Leaders, for their enthusiasm, commitment, and hard work in leading this project and encouraging others to get involved.
