Easter Egg Design & Rolling Competition 🐣 Please boil an egg at home and decorate it with your own design. It can be any theme — not just Easter. You might choose sports, family, television, books, or anything else you enjoy. You can use paints or markers to decorate your egg. Remember to add your name (or initials) and your class so the eggs don’t get mixed up. Bring your decorated egg into school on Tuesday 31st of March. Please wrap your egg carefully when bringing it into school and class teachers will safely store all the eggs until Wednesday 1st of April. On Wednesday 1st of April, we will help judge the winners in each class and also see which eggs roll best! Of course there will be other fun Easter activities along the way, maybe even a little Easter treat! [Open Image]

🌿Eco-Schools Programme - Energy 💡 Inspection

17th Apr 2025

🌿All Eco-Schools are required to carry out an energy audit as part of their Environmental 🌿Review and then can choose to set targets for reducing unnecessary energy use through their Action Plan.🌳

The energy required for heating, lighting and powering equipment in an ordinary school classroom releases about 4,000 kg of CO2 every year – enough to fill four hot-air balloons 10 metres in diameter. UK schools spend about £450m on energy each year, three times as much as they do on books, and about 3.5% of their budgets.

🎍Some schools will spend four times more per pupil than similar schools in the same region. The difference is often to do with how effectively schools manage their energy use. Surveys show that, through simple low-cost and no-cost measures, schools can reduce their fuel bills by up to 10% while also reducing their CO2 emissions.🦚

🥀Today, Anna carried out an inspection of all classrooms to assess if any unnecessary energy was being used within our school. 🌼Anna recorded all her findings on a table and she will present her results of the survey to the Eco-Schools committee.  🪻

Thank you Anna for all your support today! You are helping to make us manage our energy use more effectively.
