Exploring ICT Tools in Primary Three
The children in Primary Three have been working hard on an ICT task linked to their numeracy learning all about their class. As part of this activity, they have been recalling how many children are in their class each day and extending their thinking by counting how many boys and girls are present daily.
Together, we are creating a display to show this information in a clear and colourful way. As part of the task, the children learned to type their first and second names using the keyboard, change the size of their text, and explore different font colours—developing their digital literacy and confidence with technology. They spent time discussing the main parts of a computer and how we print completed tasks.
This task links closely to the 5 E's of ICT in the Northern Ireland Curriculum: the children were Exploring ICT tools, Expressing their ideas clearly, Exchanging information, Evaluating their work, and Exhibiting their learning through a class display.
A big thank you to Michael-Sean, our new ICT Assistant in Primary Three, for helping everyone stay on track and making ICT learning even more enjoyable!
