Kindness Week at St. Patrick’s Primary School
Next week, we will be celebrating Kindness Week in St. Patrick’s Primary School!
This is a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to learn the importance of empathy, respect, and caring for others. We encourage everyone to join in and make kindness a daily habit.
Why Kindness Matters:
Kindness helps create a positive school environment where every child feels valued and supported. Small acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone’s day!
How You Can Support at Home
- Talk about kindness: Share examples of kind acts and why they matter.
- Model kindness: Show your child how you help others in everyday life.
- Celebrate kindness: Praise your child when they show kindness to others.
School Activities During Kindness Week
Here are just some of the different ideas we’ll be encouraging in the school:
- Compliment Day: Students give genuine compliments to classmates.
- Help Someone Day: Offer help to a friend or teacher.
- Kindness Chain: Each act of kindness adds a link to our school chain.
- Thank You Notes: Write notes to teachers, staff, or family members.
- Kindness Jar: Fill a jar with examples of kind acts seen during the week.
- Kindness Tree: Each time a pupil performs an act of kindness, they write it on a leaf and add it to the tree.
- Kindness Bingo: Give each student a bingo card with acts of kindness (e.g., “Help someone pick up dropped items,” “Say thank you to a teacher”). Small prizes for completing a row.
- Kindness Journal: Students write down one kind thing they did or saw each day.
- Story Time on Kindness: Read books about kindness (e.g., Have You Filled a Bucket Today? by Carol McCloud) and discuss.
- Thank You Cards: Students make cards for pupils or anyone who works/helps in the school.
- Kindness Assembly
Let’s work together to make St. Patrick’s a place where kindness shines every day!
Thank you for your support.
