As part of our World Around Us topic “Food and Shopping,” Primary 2 have been exploring the colourful and exciting world of fruit and vegetables. This week, the children learned all about how different fruits and vegetables grow — on trees, bushes, vines, and even underground! We also discovered that some fruits grow best in hot countries, while others prefer cooler climates.
Today, the boys and girls had the chance to make their very own fruit skewers. They showed great enthusiasm as they tasted a variety of fruits, including some they had never tried before. It was wonderful to see so many adventurous eaters!
The children also produced some beautiful work, showcasing where different fruits and vegetables grow and demonstrating their fantastic understanding of this week’s learning.
To build on this at home, the boys and girls have been asked to investigate where their fruits and vegetables come from by checking the labels on packaging with their families. We look forward to hearing about what they discover!
