Primary 6/7 have had a very busy and enjoyable few weeks in class. The pupils have been enjoying reading and discussing the key themes of our class novel Street Child. They particularly enjoyed learning about education in the Victorian era and had great fun comparing and contrasting school life then with education today.

In Art, the children worked very hard creating a lovely surprise for their mums, and they were very excited to prepare these special gifts.

This week the class also focused on developing their communication and public speaking skills as they prepared for their class assembly about St Patrick.

The pupils delivered an outstanding performance. They learned their parts extremely well and spoke with confidence, excellent fluency and expression. The class sang beautifully in Irish and performed a fantastic version of the popular hit
Killeagh. Everyone looked brilliant dressed in green, and we all enjoyed watching our wonderful pupils showcase their Irish dancing!

The children also thoroughly enjoyed our annual St Patrick’s Day talent show where they listened to songs, watched dances and laughed along to some great Irish jokes. It was a fantastic day for everyone.

We would like to wish everyone a very Happy St Patrick’s Day and to all of our wonderful mums a restful and happy Mother’s Day.

Well done boys and girls. I am very proud of you all!
