Measurement fun in Primary 1 π
18th Feb 2026
P1 have been busy exploring the world of measurement in class using cubes as our non-standard unit of measurement. They used their cubes to measure how tall different classroom objects were. The boys and girls really impressed Mrs O’Hagan and Orla with their use of comparative language. This comparison led lots of questions, such as, if Eddy the Teddy is 30 cubes tall, then how much taller is Orla than Eddy the Teddy? Of course we had to find out. πThere were lots of great estimates with the closest being 91 cubes. Even Orla was shocked to find out that she is 89 cubes tall! π Well done boys and girls, super measuring work. We can’t wait to see who you will measure next! π€
