Old Cross Painting - by Paddy McCann
A Special Gift for St Patrick’s Mullinahoe
We were delighted to receive a beautiful surprise this morning at St Patrick’s Mullinahoe—a stunning painting of the Old Ardboe Cross, generously donated by one of our grandparents, Mr Paddy McCann.
Mr McCann is a well-known local artist and we are delighted to exhibit his work in our school. We are incredibly grateful for this thoughtful gift, which will be cherished by our school community for many years to come.
The painting was proudly brought in by two of Mr McCann’s grandchildren, and it now holds a place of honour in our front foyer. We invite all parents and visitors to take a moment to admire it when they visit the school.
The Old Ardboe Cross holds deep significance for our school. It is a symbol that features prominently in our identity—appearing on our uniforms, in our classrooms, throughout our policies and communications, on our website, and in many of our school art projects and models.
This generous donation is a beautiful reminder of the strong connections between our school, our heritage, and our wider community.
