Primary 2 - Exploring Measurement! 📏
Primary 2 have been busy becoming mini-mathematicians as they exploring the world of measurement in class. Using non-standard units such as blocks, cubes, paper lips and even their own hands and feet, the children investigated how long, tall and short different classroom objects were.
They worked in teams to measure crayons, books, tables and even each other! The class enjoyed comparing their results, discussing which items were longer, shorter, taller or the same length, and discovering that different units can give different measurements.
The children then practised ordering objects from longest to shortest, using careful counting and lots of mathematical language. We were so impressed with how confidently they used words like length, height, estimate, compare, longer than and shorter than.
Well done, Primary 2! You showed fantastic teamwork, problem-solving skills and curiosity. We’re looking forward to seeing where your measuring adventures take you next! 📏✨
