Primary 2 have made a great start to Term 2. ☺️
Our Primary 2 class have had a lovely few days settling back in after the Christmas holidays and have made a fantastic start to the new term. It has been wonderful listening to the children share their happy memories and hear all about the special time they spent with their families over the holidays.
We have already been very busy in class! The children enjoyed creating winter-themed art, using colour and creativity to reflect the season. We also began our new topic, “Our World Around Us – Food and Shopping,” by completing a KWL activity to share what we already know and what we would like to learn.
In literacy, we revisited our sentence writing rules, focusing on capital letters, finger spaces, punctuation and remembering to read over our work to check it makes sense. The children did a great job applying these skills.
In numeracy, we have been exploring subtraction within 10, revising numbers to 20, and recapping our learning on data tables and pictographs from before the holidays. The children showed great confidence recalling their previous learning and applying it in class activities.
Well done, Primary 2, for such a positive and enthusiastic start to the term – we are looking forward to all the learning ahead! 😊
