RESPECT As we begin our school year, it is important that we set out our standards for respect from the beginning. Simple things like a smile, good eye contact or a “hello” can make a huge difference when forming relationships with new friends and helping others. Small gestures towards others show that you value them and will help to build respect. In the month of September we will be focusing on the Christian value - RESPECT. This is also one of our Key School values. As a whole school community, we will be discussing what RESPECT means and what it should look like within each classroom. We will be looking at: How we show respect for each other and adults in the school community. How children are encouraged to value and respect their own and other people’s belongings. How children are encouraged to show tolerance by accepting feelings, habits or beliefs, racial or ethnic origins that are different from their own. What patience, kindness and good manners should look like in our classroom.   [Open Document] | ☕ Coffee Morning ☕ - Friends Of Mullinahoe - Coffee Morning on Sunday 28th of September from 12.00 - 2.00 pm in the Ardboe Community Centre. 🔎 Primary Three Explore the Life and Art of Vincent Van Gogh

15th Sep 2025

Over the past two weeks, the children in Primary Three have been working incredibly hard on their topic about the famous artist Vincent Van Gogh. 👩‍🎨

They have been learning all about his life and the many jobs he enjoyed before becoming an artist. One of the highlights has been studying his iconic painting Sunflowers 🌻 in great detail.

The children have already created their own beautiful drawings, and tomorrow they are excited to use pastels to explore different tones of yellow in the sunflower petals. 🎨

This topic has been creatively linked to other areas of the curriculum too. In maths, the children have been estimating and measure 📏 the length of sunflowers, while in ICT 💻 and literacy they have been researching interesting facts online and studying the 🌻 sunflower in more depth.

A special thank you to Amelia’s granny, Nuala, a talented artist who kindly shared two of her own paintings 🖼️ for the class to study. We also want to recognise Erin, who visited the local library 📚 and carried out her own online research to share with the class.

I am incredibly proud of the enthusiasm and dedication the children have shown. They are truly inspired learners! 🤩🤩🤩
