Today, our Primary 7 pupils enjoyed a very special celebration of St Brigid’s Day, marking the occasion with a wonderful intergenerational event in school. The children invited their grandparents to join them and worked together to create traditional St Brigid’s crosses, learning about the meaning of the day and the importance of this long-standing Irish tradition.
It was a joy to see the hall filled with conversation, laughter and shared memories as grandparents passed on skills, stories and traditions to the children. After the cross-making, everyone enjoyed a relaxed social time with tea, coffee, biscuits and scones, giving pupils and grandparents the opportunity to chat and enjoy each other’s company.
The children absolutely loved having their grandparents in school and were incredibly proud to share their learning with them. It was a truly heart-warming day that celebrated faith, culture, family and community, and one that will be fondly remembered by all who took part.
