RESPECT As we begin our school year, it is important that we set out our standards for respect from the beginning. Simple things like a smile, good eye contact or a “hello” can make a huge difference when forming relationships with new friends and helping others. Small gestures towards others show that you value them and will help to build respect. In the month of September we will be focusing on the Christian value - RESPECT. This is also one of our Key School values. As a whole school community, we will be discussing what RESPECT means and what it should look like within each classroom. We will be looking at: How we show respect for each other and adults in the school community. How children are encouraged to value and respect their own and other people’s belongings. How children are encouraged to show tolerance by accepting feelings, habits or beliefs, racial or ethnic origins that are different from their own. What patience, kindness and good manners should look like in our classroom.   [Open Document] | β˜• Coffee Morning β˜• - Friends Of Mullinahoe - Coffee Morning on Sunday 28th of September from 12.00 - 2.00 pm in the Ardboe Community Centre. The Daily Mile πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒ

11th Nov 2022

πŸƒπŸƒ‍♀️ The children in P4 were very excited to get started on The Daily Mile last week!

πŸƒ‍β™€οΈπŸƒ The Daily Mile is a fully-inclusive, free and simple initiative which improves the physical and mental health of children. It also improves focus in the classroom.

πŸƒπŸƒ‍♀️ It’s a social activity where the children run or jog, at their own pace, for 15 minutes every day or at least 3 times a week.

πŸƒ‍β™€οΈπŸƒ The aim of The Daily Mile is to incorporate 10-15 minutes of self-paced physical activity (walking, jogging, wheeling or running) into our daily life, to experience the benefits of regular exercise.

πŸƒπŸƒ‍♀️ We all know that regular physical activity has a positive impact on our health and wellbeing, and can help us to feel refreshed, happier, more productive, and less stressed.

πŸƒπŸƒ‍♀️ By getting #FitForLife with The Daily Mile, we are taking the first steps to leading a more active, healthier lifestyle.

πŸƒ‍β™€οΈπŸƒThis isn’t about elite sport or exercise – we simply go outside into the fresh air in what we’re wearing, to get fit in 15 minutes of self-paced walking, jogging, wheeling or running.

πŸƒ‍β™€οΈπŸƒ In this time, most people will average a mile or more. By focusing on the time of 15 minutes rather than on the distance, it keeps The Daily Mile non-competitive, social, and inclusive – everyone can take part at their own pace, regardless of age, ability or personal circumstance.
