RESPECT As we begin our school year, it is important that we set out our standards for respect from the beginning. Simple things like a smile, good eye contact or a “hello” can make a huge difference when forming relationships with new friends and helping others. Small gestures towards others show that you value them and will help to build respect. In the month of September we will be focusing on the Christian value - RESPECT. This is also one of our Key School values. As a whole school community, we will be discussing what RESPECT means and what it should look like within each classroom. We will be looking at: How we show respect for each other and adults in the school community. How children are encouraged to value and respect their own and other people’s belongings. How children are encouraged to show tolerance by accepting feelings, habits or beliefs, racial or ethnic origins that are different from their own. What patience, kindness and good manners should look like in our classroom.   [Open Document] | ☕ Coffee Morning ☕ - Friends Of Mullinahoe - Coffee Morning on Sunday 28th of September from 12.00 - 2.00 pm in the Ardboe Community Centre. Under Bethlehem Skies

11th Dec 2022
Nativity scene

In 1223 Saint Francis of Assisi decided to celebrate Christmas Mass in a small village where he had his monastery; he took a manger and filled it with hay and animals. A crowd of people from all over the neighbouring countryside came to see the manger.

With time, the figures were replaced first by statues in actual size; then by smaller ones; other figures were introduced as well: shepherds, angels, the Wise Men. This tradition was soon everywhere in Europe.

Displaying a crib in our homes at Christmas is a reminder to us about the true meaning of Christmas. It also helps us to pass on the faith to our family and friends.

The children in P3 worked very hard to create their own clay cribs for Christmas. We hope you enjoy all of their wonderful creations under Bethlehem skies!
