Visit of First Minister to St Patrick’s Mullinahoe
We were delighted to welcome First Minister Michelle O’Neill to St Patrick’s Primary School on Friday 12th June 2026.
The children gave the First Minister a warm and enthusiastic welcome as she arrived at the school. She was then officially greeted by our Governors and staff.
The visit opened with a special Eco Schools assembly, during which our new Eco Flag was proudly presented. Members of our Eco Team showcased the wide range of activities and initiatives our pupils have undertaken to achieve this prestigious award. Their passion for environmental issues and sustainability was truly inspiring.
Mrs O’Neills visited our Foundation Stage classes and their new outdoor play area, before meeting with the KS2 Classes who spoke to her about their Junior Entrepreneur Project and the lessons they have learned.
The celebrations continued with wonderful performances from our pupils, featuring traditional Irish music, Irish dancing, and heartfelt song. These cultural displays highlighted the talent, creativity, and strong sense of heritage within our school community.
The morning was a fantastic opportunity for our young people to engage with an important leader and share their achievements in both sustainability and the arts.
