RESPECT As we begin our school year, it is important that we set out our standards for respect from the beginning. Simple things like a smile, good eye contact or a “hello” can make a huge difference when forming relationships with new friends and helping others. Small gestures towards others show that you value them and will help to build respect. In the month of September we will be focusing on the Christian value - RESPECT. This is also one of our Key School values. As a whole school community, we will be discussing what RESPECT means and what it should look like within each classroom. We will be looking at: How we show respect for each other and adults in the school community. How children are encouraged to value and respect their own and other people’s belongings. How children are encouraged to show tolerance by accepting feelings, habits or beliefs, racial or ethnic origins that are different from their own. What patience, kindness and good manners should look like in our classroom.   [Open Document] | ☕ Coffee Morning ☕ - Friends Of Mullinahoe - Coffee Morning on Sunday 28th of September from 12.00 - 2.00 pm in the Ardboe Community Centre. World Book Day - Battle Of The Books.

2nd Mar 2023

Read about our new World Book Day Challenge. 📚

World Book Day was set up to encourage children to develop a love of books and promote reading for pleasure, not just for one day but every day of the year. On the World Book Day website, they state "Spending just 10 minutes a day reading and sharing stories with children can makes a crucial difference to their future success and it’s fun for all involved.

In St Patrick’s Mullinahoe as part of our World Book Day Activities for 2023 we are promoting a full week of reading called ‘Battle Of The Books.’  All our classes will be divided into 4 groups who will compete against each other to see who can reach the most points. Points will be awarded through our Accelerated Reader Quizzes for P3-P7 and by the teachers and classroom assistants in Foundation Stage for their various reading activities.

Our four groups for our battle of the books are; The Arrows. The Brains, The Climbers, and the Discoverers. Ask your child which group they are in.
